3 Steps to Break Out of a Facebook Slump

“Every act of creation is first of all an act of destruction” -Picasso

To date, there are over 1 billion active users on Facebook so why aren’t you able to capitalize? In order to build it up, let’s break it down to examine what is and is not working with your business’s social media. Follow these 3 steps to break out of your Facebook slump!

1. Understand Your Audience
Who are your followers and what are their interests? Are they married, have kids, own homes, or like baseball? (To name a few.) Do you have a few loyal fans who you wish you could duplicate? Dive into their background and target Facebook posts toward this demographic to reach your target market.

2. Be Social!
Basically, you get what you give. You need to be social on social media. If your engagement is low, go on the offense and connect with like-minded individuals, other businesses and community programs/activities to increase your reach and following. Think about the companies that you love and why you like to connect.

3. Follow the 3 E’s
ENGAGE: Post relevant content, ask interesting questions and be creative with your “call to action” to increase clicks, likes, shares and messages. EDUCATE: You have knowledge in your field. Why is it interesting to you? Don’t sell, just share an interesting fact or pose a solution to a common problem. ENTERTAIN: Your fans have followed you for a reason. They don’t need more boring information thrown at them. Make them laugh. Make them cry. We all wish to be entertained!

*BONUS* Post at the appropriate times. Studies show the average best times are 9AM, 1PM & 3PM Thursday-Sunday.
